HGT was blessed to be awarded 1st Place in Florida's largest Southern Gospel music talent contest, located in Bonifay Florida, Saturday July 7, 2001.
 

The prizes include a cash award of $500, however, the thrill came with the later portion of the prize which included the opportunity to share their ministry on the "Big Stage" before a capacity crowd of approximately 3,000 Southern Gospel music fans. Wow, night to remember, indeed. Praise The Lord!!!
 

Pastor and Bonifay promoter,Bill Bailey, was quick to book HGT in several of his concerts following their big win. When pastor Bill first introduced them in his concert he was heard to say, "I don't like this new group, coming to the stage. They took $500 of my money, at Bonifay". The audience laughed, HGT sang, and the glory came down.
